International agricultural market will change significantly this year amid factors such as the appreciation of the us currency, lower oil prices and rising yields, as a result leading exporting countries cede place to new players, writes the Wall Street Journal.
Canada and the U.S., the largest agricultural exporters in the world, in recent times, significantly behind Russia in terms of wheat production. This year Russia is ready to export 23.5 million tons of grain while Canada is able to send for sale, only 20.5 million tons, and the United States — a total of 21.8 million tons. The former “market leaders” will demonstrate the lowest level of exports for the last 44 years.
