A YouTube user with the nickname NeumiElektronik used old CD-ROM drives (servos and some other details), a laser diode with 150 mW and 405 nm and an Arduino mega to create a laser engraver. The Central platform moving under control of Arduino and the laser burns on the surface the details of the scheme and the patterns set by the wizard. The most interesting use case of such mechanism is the creation of printed circuit boards with photoresist.
